In 2023 The Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute (The Vakhtangov Theatre School) announces recruitment for the specialty 52.05.01 "Acting", specialization - "Actor of Drama theatre and cinema"

There will be two courses.

Course leaders:

- Vladimir Vladimirovich Ivanov - Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, director at the Yevgeny Vakhtangov Theatre, Professor of the Acting Department;

- Anna Leonardovna Dubrovskaya - Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Honored Artist of the Republic of South Ossetia, Professor of the Acting Department, Candidate of Art History.

STAGES OF THE ADMISSION PROCESS.

1. Fill out the questionnaire and download video materials in the Applicant’s Personal Account (Личный кабинет абитуриента). The access to the Applicant’s Personal Account (Личный кабинет абитуриента) will be open from April 1, 2023. All detailed information and instructions for filling out the Applicant's Personal Account (Личный кабинет абитуриента) will be posted on the Russian Version of the Institute's website in March 2023.

2. Go through qualifying rounds.

Please note that the qualifying rounds, the main creative competition and entrance tests will be held in person, not online.

3. Go through main creative competition and a test of professional orientation.

4. Provide all necessary documents.

5. Pass the exam on the Russian Language.

6. Go through an interview on the Russian Literature.

INFORMATION ABOUT EACH STAGE.

Before the start of the entrance tests, applicants MUST pass an audition and qualifying rounds. Passing the qualifying rounds may take up to a few weeks.

The first audition will be taken online. In order to take this audition you need to provide video materials with your entrance program. You can download the video in the Applicant’s Personal Account. The access to the Applicant’s Personal Account (Личный кабинет абитуриента) will be open from April 1, 2023. All detailed information and instructions for filling out the Applicant's Personal Account(Личный кабинет абитуриента) will be posted on the Russian Version of the Institute's website in March 2023.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS TO THE VIDEO MATERIALS.

1. The recording of each work of the entrance program is made and downloaded in the Applicant's Personal Account as separate files.

2. At the beginning of the recording, it is necessary to clearly pronounce your first name and your last name, your age, your place of residence. Before reciting pieces of literary works please clearly pronounce the title and author of each work.

3. You can use your mobile phone for recording the videos.

REQUIREMENTS TO THE CONTENTS OF THE VIDEO MATERIALS .

1. The video material for the specialization "Actor of Drama Theatre and Cinema" must contain the following program: one fable, one poem, one piece of literature in prose, one verse and chorus from a melodic song (a cappella performance or with your own accompaniment), a dance (optional).

2. The video should contain three perspectives: headshot, portrait shot (half body shot) and full-body shot.

3. The are no strict requirements for the clothes but the outfit of an applicant must meet the chosen material and situation. Girls should be wearing dresses or skirts and blouses, boys should be wearing shirts and trousers (no jacket).

4. You are welcome to demonstrate additional skills like playing musical instruments, singing, dancing, tap dance, juggling, etc.

The list of entrance tests for foreign citizens wishing to get enrolled to the specialty 52.05.01 "Acting" (except for foreign citizens entering according to the international quota of Rossotrudnichestvo).

DEADLINES FOR ACCEPTING DOCUMENTS, DEADLINES FOR PROVIDING ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS ON EDUCATION, DATES OF ISSUANCE OF ENROLLMENT ORDERS

Admission to the Institute does not require a mandatory preliminary medical examination (examination).

Accommodation is provided only to full-time students enrolled on a budget basis. The number of places in dormitories for nonresident students for all specializations is 25.

Entrance tests with the use of remote technologies are not carried out.

All entrance tests are conducted in the Russian language.
